How to make the most out of selling your property this Autumn

The nights are drawing in, leaves are falling from the trees, Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens, and we’re all on the countdown to Halloween, Bonfire Night and, yes, that’s right…Christmas.
But none of that is on your mind right now, because you’re selling your home and the stress is starting to bubble (unless, you’re in Thetford and have instructed Lawsons Estate Agents, in which case you’re one of the lucky ones!)
So, for those of you who are selling without the help from our team of experts, we’ve put together some tips to help you make the most of selling your home this Autumn.
Make it homely: there’s nothing like taking a look around a home you can envision yourself moving into. From the lights to the smells (ideally of the baking kind, but that’s just because we like cake), add the homely touches to appeal to the senses of potential buyers.
Turn on the heating: entering a home with no heating is cold and uninviting, so turn the heating on when it’s needed, and your prospective buyers (and your property sale) will thank you for it. Even better if you have a fire place, show off the best that your home has to offer.
Allow for a space for coats and shoes: If you’d rather people didn’t wear shoes when touring your home, make sure you allow for space for coats to be hung and shoes to be left.
Embrace autumnal colours: It’s autumn which calls for pumpkins to be scattered throughout your home (not literally, of course), with warming, neutral throws, and a vanilla spiced fragrance inviting viewers.
Sweep up the leaves: You can embrace autumn inside, but outside it would be best to sweep up the leaves, leaving a safe path for viewers to enter your property. And, if you have a garden, make sure leaves are swept away to allow prospective buyers to actually view your garden.
